About the studio & I

Hi, I’m Yael.

I’m the owner of “The glass blowing studio of Jerusalem”.

I was born in the community of Beit El to Ahava and Yehoshua Valach in 1986. I grew up in a family of eight siblings, where creativity and artistic expression were always encouraged. From a young age, art was a natural part of my world. At the age of 14, I began designing and selling custom birthday cakes, but at a certain point the workload became too overwhelming and I decided to stop.

I  began my studies of Glass blowing at the age of 19 at Bezalel – School of Art and Design

Upon graduation, I opened a studio and sat for hours practicing this complicated technique. In

in addition to traveling around the world searching for and working alongside brilliant artists among the famous Dale Chihuli.

My passion todai is to allow whoever wishes- to learn and create on their own in the platform of workshops and courses.

As we practice, the technique become part of our body somewhat like a dance, we move with this magical material, which is a unique combination fragility and clarity absorbing light and reflections which become the tools for the expression and creativity.

As an artist I derive inspiration  from small movements around me: voices, reflections, conversation which trensand my thoughts of  nature and how it behaves, thus becoming the true base for the shapes I create.
